What is digital marketing?

Digital marketing is also called online marketing. It simply means the process of marketing online.

What are some jobs in digital marketing?

There are SO many opportunities in digital marketing that we couldn’t possibly name them all. Some that come to mind are an e-commerce business owner, coach, consultant, social media specialist, launch specialist, email specialist, marketing manager, marketing coordinator, virtual assistant, marketing strategist, media specialist, project manager, SEO consultant, and video marketing specialist.

However, most people who come to us simply want to start their own online business. The opportunities are virtually endless for someone who knows online marketing.

What do digital marketers need to know?

Most of the positions above require a broad knowledge of online marketing. However, if you’re planning on specializing in any one thing, you need a deep understanding of that subject. If you are just looking to start your own business, it helps to know a wide variety of subjects. You don’t have to know them all extensively, but you need to know enough to organize and manage your business properly.

What do digital marketers do all day?

This is a broad question, and the answer is … it depends on what you’re doing. Most marketers spend a few hours on their computer or laptop before lunch, then take their laptops with them wherever they go for the day. Then maybe come back later in the afternoon or evening. They might set up their software, answer customer questions, hang out on social media, place new ads, write articles for their business, and much more. Having a digital marketing business is very flexible.

What kind of software will I need?

Because digital marketing is such a vast subject, there is no one answer here. It just depends on what you’ll be doing. You’ll need your own domain name which we show you how to get at a low cost. Then our courses show you how to start your first business with a free website, free email software, free graphics software, and more. There’s quite a lot of free software out there to get you started. However, you’ll eventually want to spend extra for software that offers you convenience, like social media scheduling software, or additional tools, such as video editing software, for example. One thing you don’t necessarily want to get free is your digital marketing education, since so much of it is not accurate. We do have a lot of freebies and articles on our blog, but the majority of it is in our paid courses where we make sure you learn it the right way that the experts do it.

What experience do I need to be a digital marketer?

There’s no set length of time. Some people launch their new business without any experience at all. The key is not experience but rather the ability to understand the big picture and professionally offer your services to really help your customer, no matter what those services might be.

If you don’t have any special skills or services you can offer right now, that’s okay too. We help you understand your strengths and create an idea for a business around those strengths. How did Million Dollar Marketer get started?

Our founder, Margery Hinman, talks about how she kept getting asked how she started her businesses over the years, some of which went on to make millions of dollars. Yes, it’s a real Ph.D., although it’s considered a religious degree (in Metaphysics). However, the degree has really helped her with creating Mindset courses and coaching others to perform at their very best.

How long does it take?

Some businesses, like ecommerce, require several different types of software, while other businesses don’t require any additional purchases or very minimal purchases. How can I get additional help or support?
